Developing bots can be a lot of work for those of you, who may not know which tools Microsoft offers for the various bot development stages. Fortunately, Microsoft released an [article](https://github.com/Microsoft/botbuilder-tools/blob/master/tools-overview.md) which contains the various tools for the following phases in your end-to-end bot development workflow. The following phases need to be gone through combined with the correct toolset supporting your successful bot development project:

* **Plan**
  * Plan your bot's conversations and dialogs
  * Take a look at the [principles of bot design](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/bot-service/bot-service-design-principles?WT.mc_id=AI-MVP-5003073)
  * Use [Chatdown](https://github.com/Microsoft/botbuilder-tools/blob/master/tools-overview.md#create-mock-conversations-using-chatdown) to mock conversations before you actually start coding
* **Build**
  * Use [Ludown](https://github.com/Microsoft/botbuilder-tools/blob/master/tools-overview.md#bootstrap-language-understanding-with-ludown) to bootstrap Language Understanding

  * Use [QnA Maker CLI](https://github.com/Microsoft/botbuilder-tools/blob/master/tools-overview.md#create-qna-maker-kb-using-qna-maker-cli) to create QnA Maker knowledgebases
  * Use [Dispatch CLI](https://github.com/Microsoft/botbuilder-tools/blob/master/tools-overview.md#create-dipsatch-model-using-dispatch-cli) to create your own dipsatch models
* **Test**
  * Use the [Bot Framework Emulator V4](https://github.com/Microsoft/BotFramework-Emulator/releases) for testing your bot
* **Publish**
  * Use the [Azure CLI](https://github.com/Microsoft/botbuilder-tools/tree/master/AzureCli) to create, download and publish your locally built bots to the Azure Bot Service
* **Connect**
  * Use the [Azure CLI](https://github.com/Microsoft/botbuilder-tools/tree/master/AzureCli) to connect your bot to the various Azure Bot Service channels
* **Evaluate**
  * Use the [Azure Portal](https://portal.azure.com) to improve the bot's capabilities and performance
  * Use [Application Insights](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/bot-service/bot-service-manage-analytics?WT.mc_id=AI-MVP-5003073) to gain conversation-level reporting on user, message and channel data
